Last year, we designed, made and fitted a bespoke complete kitchen into the home of clients in Stone, Buckinghamshire. They recently asked us back to design and build a vanity unit for their bathroom. They already knew tha they wanted to use a Villeroy and Boch sink, and we incorporated this into the design. Our clients also wanted the vanity unit to be finished in a certain shade of paint, and we were able to match the colour sample they supplied using spectro analysis technology – i.e. scanning and exactly replicating a colour. Very clever, and useful!
We designed and built the vanity cabinet with curved corners to mimic the subtle curves of the sink, and constructed it in moisture resistant MDF and solid maple. The side panels are flat, and everything is based on a simple plinth. The double doors sit on high quality, soft close hinges, and we have fitted an internal adjustable shelf. The back panel has cut outs for the plumbing pipes.
The exterior and interior are finished in hard-wearing coloured furniture lacquer, and the whole unit has been nicely finished off with hand-made chrome handles.
