Bespoke bedroom wardrobes and furniture – Henton, Oxfordshire

We have recently completed some work for clients that live in Henton, Oxfordshire. They wanted a large fitted wardrobe that featured four sets of full height double doors, a fitted shoe cabinet, and a corner dressing table and drawer cabinet. All of this furniture was then to be fully fitted to the walls and floor of the huge room that the wardrobe was destined for.

There were details that our client wanted us to take note of. So, we hand-made handles to match in with existing furniture, made in oak with a burr oak band running across the face of the handle. The exterior pieces constructed in ash and finished with hard-wearing furniture lacquer in colour to match existing furniture (spectro-analysed to match) with wood grain showing through. Both wardrobes were given an oak cornice detail, and the hard-wood plinth frames were designed with beading detail.

Doors were constructed in solid ash with ash veneered MDF panels, in a mortice and tenon construction
All doors sit on high quality, fully concealed, soft close hinges, and all interior carcassing is constructed in high specification oak veneered MDF and finished with hard-wearing clear lacquer.
We always us high quality, thick-walled, chrome hanging rails, and add cut-outs in cabinetry for access to plug sockets and watch winders behind. The large wardrobe features double height hanging, 5 adjustable shelves, ¾ height hanging with fixed shelf above, 5 adjustable shelves, a shoe cabinet to house up to 12 adjustable shelves, a drawer cabinet with four drawers, solid oak drawer boxes with oak veneered MDF bottoms.

The dressing table specifications include accurate fitting into a corner, leaving space for underfloor heating manifold boxing. The frame and panel side panel match the wardrobe doors, and it’s all supported at the left hand end by upright and fitted to wardrobe at right hand end. The solid oak top is finished in hard-wearing clear lacquer, with a cable port for ease of use of socket below.
