Often when thinking of their dream kitchen, and what elements it would have in it, out clients may forget the space and organisation required for the smaller items, but essential if the kitchen is to be used for some serious cooking and baking. For that reason, we always suggest adding a spice rack of some suitable design which will also hold bottles of olive oil, condiments and vinegar and so on.
We’ve been making the above spice and oil racks, and they will be fitted to the inside of the doors of a larder we are fitting for a client in April. These racks are made of solid oak and will be finished in a clear lacquer to show off the natural grain and warmth of the colour, and so will also look fabulous. The set back double-doored larder cupboard will sit on a stone top and the interior will be fitted with adjustable shelves and PIR LED lighting (lights up on detecting motion, i.e. when the doors are opened up – very useful!).
This kitchen will be particularly stunning, and will be finished in a Farrow & Ball paint choice of Downpipe and Pigeon – we’ll have more ideas and photography from May onwards to publish here our blog.
