A window seat is something that can give so much pleasure – but can also prove to be a very practical addition to a room, adding useful storage space as well. Our clients in Thame asked us to design, make and fit a window seat that would look beautiful in the light and bright bay window of the family room. The seat, or top, is made from solid oak, and was stained and lacquered to match existing furniture. High quality lid stays and butt hinges mean that the lid can be lifted time and time again with no worry about it becoming loose. The front of the seat was spray painted the same colour as the paint on the surrounding walls – we spectro-analyzed the colour to get an exact match. Our clients are thrilled, and the window seat is already in full and busy use for the family.
