Sometimes our clients ask us to regenerate furniture that they already have. Maybe it’s perfectly good but outdated, and needs modernising, or rejigging to accommodate new appliances or a new style. We can do this for kitchens (see the kitchen we worked on here: Nettlebed kitchen overhaul), and we can also work to improve what other furniture there might already be in your home. Now, let’s be clear, we’re not talking about adding a lick of paint to a chair to ‘upcycle’ it, but designing and making new solutions for existing fitted wardrobes, storage areas and other living areas. This is the kind of work that we are happy to take on, workload and existing bookings permitting.
This is what we did in the photos above for a client in Thame. We were asked to fill an existing cupboard at one end of the dining room. We designed and made solid oak shelves and a cabinet below with three filling drawers, all in oak and then clear lacquered. We have since been back and completed similar work in the other cupboard to the left with more oak shelves that will function as a drinks cabinet.
