It’s not often you come across a good old-fashioned larder nowadays – before every household had a refrigerator and freezer, the larder was an area or small room off the kitchen where cool air could freely circulate, and they were located in a corner that receieved the least light and consequently, heat.
Anyway, we were asked to completely overhaul the larder of a client that was past its best. We designed and fitted some roll-out storage boxes, a vegetable rack and fully accessible shelves, all in oiled ash.
