We recently had the pleasure of collecting some beautiful English cherry from woodland owned by a client near Henley
The trees had already been cut down and planked, and has been stored in the wood for 18 months to start the drying process
We have now moved it tour lovely dry and warm workshop to continue the drying process for the next six months. The idea is to try to get its moisture level down to below 10%, at which point it will be workable. Our client has asked us to design and make a set of bookcases and a coffee table from it for their home which will be very enjoyable – it’s always a fascinating process in furniture making to see the route from tree to finished piece of fine furniture.
