With the advent of larger flat screen TVs, DVD players, games consoles, Blu-ray players, digital recorders and anything else that you might find in the living room attached to a TV set, there has correspondingly been more of a need for an intelligently designed cabinet that stores everything. It’s a bonus to get wires and cables out of the way too, as they’re not just ugly to see but also pose a trip hazard.
We’ve just completed a bespoke TV cabinet for a client, and they now have an attractive, individual piece of furniture on which to stand their large TV, and store all the other bits. This cabinet features very beautiful American black walnut interiors and a painted exterior. There are two Low Iron glass shelves (in other words, particularly clear) and LED strip lighting in the open apertures. We’ve added shadow cut out detail for the fingerpulls on the doors, and the cabinet stands on casters so it can be moved easily when required. We have also incorporated a hinged upstand behind TV set to conceal any wires, and we’ve also detailed the cabinet to pick up the detailing and mouldings of the nearby fireplace.
