Are you on Twitter? We are, and you can converse with us or follow Mark Williamson Furniture on Twitter at @MarkWFurniture. While 90% of the stuff that gets posted onto Twitter is complete junk – self-deluded X Factor dropouts or über-chic supermodels taking ‘selfies’ of themselves in their ‘onesies’, we think that for business and customer interaction, Twitter can actually …
Love your shoes
Shoes don’t really get looked after well by most of us – come in through the door, kick them off, and they’re likely to end up in some dusty corner, or disappear underneath an even dustier sofa. We think shoes should be treated better, and so when we build and design our wardrobes, we always try and incorporate some intelligent …
Want to see some etchings?
This is another shot taken in detail from the set that we did of the finished oak wardrobes for a client in Essex. The client was very clear about what sort of glass he wanted on the wardrobes, and what kind of pattern. We drew an idea in CAD, which the client liked, then had the design sand etched onto …
From the great to the small
Not all our work consists of large furniture. We also like to make smaller objects in wood, such as this book end. Have a look in our small items gallery for some more inspiration. Ideal Christmas presents for your loved ones!

More works in progress in our workshop. These are fitted wardrobes, made to measure for a client’s bedroom. The interiors are made in lacquered oak, and the exteriors are painted white. The doors and side parts are made of a frame and panel construction with a bead detail (see the photo above), and all the painted components are constructed …
More creative thinking – fitted and finished
This was a commission that we finished earlier this year. Again, the client had a difficult space in his house created by a staircase on one side of the room, and a door through to a kitchen on the other, but which he wanted to use as effiiciently as possible. We came up with storage solutions that used the available …
The Great Storm
Well, they said it would be a proper storm, and it was. It has to be said that although the wind is still gusting strongly, round this way it doesn’t seem to have been as bad as it has been in other parts of the country – 99mph winds in places. We hope you’re all safe and your Monday hasn’t …
Commission in progress – bespoke bed and bedroom furniture in American Walnut
We are working on a commission for a client that is a bed frame, headboard, fitted wardrobes, a drawer chest and bedside drawers – all to be made in American Walnut. American Walnut has a very attractive grain which when polished and lacquered really comes through beautifully – see the last photo. Fixtures and fitting in chrome, stainless steel and …
Full steam ahead
You might remember we posted back in August about our new workshop at mark Williamson Furniture looking like a bomb site. Well, it was – but after weeks of hard work, it is now up and running at virtually full capacity. All the heavy machines that were brought in by the heavy movers have been carefully positioned, wired up, serviced …
